Lacee Hightower is an American writer, and romance novelist referring to her style as ‘’Contemporary Romance’’ with a ‘’twist.’’ Living in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, she describes herself as a foodie that can’t cook, a large lover of fashion, and SHOES. A self-confessed hopeless romantic since childhood, she fell in love with the word and concept of romance and happy endings. As fate would have it, her love for writing took a back seat to life. After her children were grown and on their own, she decided it was time to write her first offering. That was in 2017. There has been no stopping her since. With a glass of wine in her hand or a steaming cup of coffee, she enjoys creating different worlds with her words and brilliant imagination. Scott Thomas Outlar survived both the fire and the flood – now he dances in celebration while waiting on the next round of chaos to commence. Otherwise, he lives a relatively simple life, spending his time laughing at life’s existential nature, flowing and fluxing with the Tao River, and writing prose-fusion poetry dedicated to the Phoenix Generation. His work has appeared recently in venues such as Underground Books, Dead Snakes, Dissident Voice, Strike-the-Root, Daily Anarchist, Black Mirror Magazine, and The Chaffey Review.

The poems of George Eklund are celebrations and examinations of our philosophical, social, psychological and spiritual emergencies. This collection is filled with voices at once strange and familiar, poems that unite human interiors and exteriors. They present an aesthetic which honors language as the essence of our beings; an aesthetic in which words are freed from the yokes of colonial duties. These poems synthesize influences drawn from a diverse and wide world. They celebrate discursive, linear composition as it comes into contact with the elliptical and associative orientations in language. We encounter a voice that alternates as narrative or lyrical as well as associative and highly abstracted. To create new blendings and ratios these poems move freely between the rational and the arcane, between the linear and the elliptical. The Island Blade offers us a destination to expand and honor human experience.

Welcome to the kingdom of phantoms and monsters. Seven terrifying tales of vampires, ghosts, werewolves, and witchery await those brave enough to venture inside.

A terrifying witch hunter bathes the countryside in blood, but remains blissfully unaware of the true danger… A young hunter finds something on the game trails which huntsmen…A grieving widow finds happiness in a second marriage, only to find her first husband won’t let her go…A cowardly captain abandons his men to a horrible death, and they won’t leave him alone…

These are but some of the sinister stories about the dark corners of Earth. From glittering palaces to filthy streets, these are the places where Death holds court.
